The Heavens have gained an amazing man way too early.  Larry Neal Hanzik, Jr. was called home to our Lord and Savior on Friday February 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Richmond, Texas on March 25, 1964, to Larry and Alice Hanzik.  He is preceded in death by his parents Larry and Alice Hanzik, brother Jirard Hanzik, niece Alicia Hanzik, and nephew Jamie Jirard Hanzik.  Larry is survived by his daughter Errin Pinson, son-in-law Quinn Pinson their children Raina Hanzik, Don (Trey) Brooks, Catrynn Pinson, Zayden Pinson of Palestine; his brothers, Steven Hanzik and wife Gina Hanzik of Alvin, Jason Hanzik and fiancé Rejetta Azbell of Brazoria, Jody Hanzik and wife Elizabeth Hanzik of West Columbia, and Jamie Hanzik and wife Jessica Hanzik of Sweeny.  He was blessed to have numerous nieces and nephews of which he loved deeply.  Larry was also survived by his loving partner Eva Bridges of Damon and her daughter Cheyenne Ortega and fiancé Jose Ramirez and their son Gage Ortega from Needville, and her son Taylor Ortega and his children Tate and Charlotte Ortega of Needville.  Larry and Eva were building a life full of love and memories and were planning to be married.  They shared a true connection and loved each other immensely.

Larry had recently retired after 41 years of service from Consolidated Communications.  He felt a special bond with many of those he worked with day after day.  He loved to fish and to be outdoors piddling with anything he could get his hands on.   The love he had for his grand babies was like no other, family meant the world to him, and he held a special place in his heart for all his friends.  Larry touched the lives of countless people throughout his community with selfless acts of kindness.   He will be loved and truly missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to Larry’s viewing on Wednesday February 21, 2024, from 5-8 p.m., at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia. The funeral service will take place at Creekside Christian Fellowship, 16628 Hwy 36, Needville, Texas on Thursday, February 22 at 12:30 p.m. Internment to follow at Immanuel Cemetery in Needville, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Steven Hanzik, Jason Hanzik, Jody Hanzik, Jamie Hanzik, Quinn Pinson, Taylor Ortega, Jose Ramirez.  Honorary pallbearers are Don (Trey) Brooks, Zayden Pinson, Gage Ortega, Tate Ortega, Truitt Hanzik, Leonel Silva, Mike Miller, Charles Dixon, George Volarik, John Shillingburg, Brady Brumbelow, “Damon Dave” Mace, David Mueth.

Following the graveside service, a gathering for Larry will be at the SPJST Hall located at 13609 Violet St. Needville, Texas. If you plan on attending and would like to provide a dish of any kind, please feel free to.  Any and all contributions will be gladly appreciated.
