Larry was born to Curtis and Geraldine Voncannon on September 23, 1941 in Livingston, Texas. he attended school in Brazoria and West Columbia. After his college graduation he was drafted into the U. S. Army and was assigned to the 7th Army and sent to training in Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. At the end of his service obligation he was offered a warrant officer’s appointment to remain in the military. He declined the offer and was discharged with the rank of E-5. He once remarked that this was the only time in his life that he felt he was respected and appreciated for his work and felt a sense of fulfillment.

He and his wife, Barbara Williams, were married in 1965 and have a son, Eric Voncannon (wife Monica) and daughter, Lori Hutchings (husband Jimmy). His 6 grandchildren are Andrew, Cole, Rachel, Peyton (Skyllar), Ross and Raegan (Clarence). In addition, great-grandchildren include Aires, Thyri, Gavin, Raleigh, Brynlee, Landree, and Clay expected in January. He is also survived by a borther, Curtis Voncannon, Jr. and sister, Cheryl Brigance and their families, and his sister-in-law, Rilla Boyd (James Robert) and their daughter.

Per his request, a private service will be held for family. Burial will be in Brazoria Cemetery.
