Leota (Lee) J. Glover Jinkins of Hemphill, Texas passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Lee was born to the late Willis and Bernice Glover of Lake Jackson, TX on July 13, 1932.
Lee was a longtime resident of Lake Jackson and graduated from Brazosport High School where she was a member of the marching band. She, along with her husband Carlos (Gene) Jinkins were business owners in Jones Creek for many years before moving to Hemphill, TX where she has resided for the past 30 years. Lee enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sewing, painting, bowling and traveling. She made countless trips throughout the U.S., Canada and even Taiwan with family and friends and hosted at many National Parks. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her brother Bobby Glover and his wife Lynn of Belton, TX, sons Jim Hassell and his wife Linda of Alto, TX and Mike Hassell of East Stone Gap, Virginia, daughters Donna Gooch of Hemphill, TXand Dana Skinner and her husband Glen of Brazoria, TX. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren and 8 great great- grandchildren and her beloved dachshund, Abby.
Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her brothers Bill, James and Buddy Glover, former husband and father of her children J.P. Hassell and son in law Tommy Gooch.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday November 4th from 12-1 p.m. at C.T. Baker Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Price officiating. Interment to follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery.
