Linda Hightower

Mrs. Linda Sue Hightower a Wife, Mother, Meme, and Great Meme of West Columbia, TX, unexpectedly went to be with our Lord in the early hours of Sunday, October 4th at the age of 73.

Linda was born January 11th, 1947 to Calvin “Sonny Boy” Williams and Allene “Jim” Bryant and stepfather, Herbert “Hub” Bryant. She graduated from Columbia High school in 1965 where she met her lifelong partner Gene Hightower whom she married June 10th, 1966.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gene Hightower; sisters, JoAnn Miller and Alicia Fivecoat; brother, Calvin Williams; her son, Tommy Hightower; mother of boys, Kellie Hightower; grandsons, Jacob Hightower, Kevin Hartney and wife Lacey, and Cody Halfmann and wife Cicy; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Linda is reunited in heaven with her parents, and her beloved son, Tim Hightower.

Linda was devoted to helping others. She worked in Dr. Burn’s office for 30+ years and retired from Chesney’s Jewelry store. She loved to volunteer at West Columbia First Baptist Church where she was a proud member of the Sunday school group, prayer chain, and on the food committee feeding many families for different occasions.

The Hightower family spent many hours watching numerous games of the Fighting Texas Aggies at Texas A&M where their late son, Timmy, graduated college.

Linda loved her family fiercely. She spent her spare time sewing numerous pieces for her loved ones and collecting Precious Moments figurines. She will be dearly missed by many friends, family, and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 10, 2020 at West Columbia First Baptist Church with Pastor Ryan Lintelman officiating.
