Loris Brown

March 13, 1932 — November 23, 2017

Loris Virginia Brown (Braren) passed away of natural causes and went to meet her loving husband of 48 years, Thaddeus Edward Brown, II at 1:03 PM on Thursday, November 23, 2017. Loris and Thad met outside the gates of "The Great Substation in the Sky" and sat for Thanksgiving dinner at the greatest of all tables that was prepared ahead of them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marie Clement Braren of New Orleans, LA and Friederick Stuck Braren of Hamburgh, Germany who were also present at the Thanksgiving feast. They send their regards to everyone but stated that we had to wait a bit longer because only Loris RSVPed for the event. She is resting comfortably at the beach today and when asked she did say that she would miss Christmas this year but that she is glad that she will not have to wrap all of those presents and cook so much.

Loris leaves behind 4 loving and dedicated children and their spouses; Kim Marie Jurek and husband emeritus (Tony Jurek) of Wharton, TX, Lori Ann Kraemer and husband Gary Hart Kraemer, Sr. of Sweeny, TX, Kelly Sue Jones and husband Eran X. Jones of Sweeny, TX, and Thaddeus Edward Brown, III and wife Lisa Sheldon Brown of Mansfield, TX. Loris was born in New Orleans, LA on March 13, 1932 and raised in Houston, TX in the little white house on Emmett Street with her Brother Ernest Braren of Houston, TX and sweet sister, Joan Marie Deats of Richards, TX. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Nursing School in Houston, Texas and a dedicated OR Supervisor Nurse for Sweeny Community Hospital until her retirement when she became to our dedicated and fun loving Nanny to her grandchildren, James Curtis Poole, Jr. and wife Dusty Pekar Poole of Wharton, TX, Gary Hart Kraemer, Jr. and wife Christina Crisp Kraemer of Sweeny, TX, Tiffany Jurek Waits and husband Donny Waits of Magnolia, TX, Laura Kraemer Zamora and husband Daniel Zamora of Sweeny, TX, Marci Jones Odegard and husband Ryan Odegard of League City, TX, Taylor Sheldon Brown of Manfield, TX, Kristi Erin Jones of Bay City, TX, and most honorably Thaddeus Edward Brown, IV attending the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. She was especially proud of all of her grandchildren and education was a high priority as was laughter and love in her household. Which reflects in each of her grandchildren as college graduates and highly successful individuals. Carrying on her sense of humor and spirit in her great-grandchildren; intelligent young Caiden Daniel Zamora, curious and spunky Landry Elizabeth Zamora, sweet and sensitive Olivia Caroline Kraemer, her outgoing and musical twins, Walt and Andi Waits, and her little red head, Luke Ryan Odegard. She also leaves many adored nieces, nephews, cousins, grand- dogs, and dear friends. She said to remind everyone that she will hold a place for them but bring her chocolate when you come.

Loris was an avid community volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America, Sweeny Community Hospital Board, and The Women's Center in Angleton, TX. She will be remembered by family and friends this Sunday, November 26th 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Colombia, TX. Visitation is at 1:00 PM and Services follow at 2:00 PM. Pall Bearers will include: James Curtis Poole, Jr., Gary Hart Kraemer, Jr., Thaddeus Edward Brown, IV, Ryan Odegard, Donnie Waits, Daniel Zamora, Caiden Zamora, Walt Waits, and Luke Odegard.
