Louetta Pitts Carroll, a beloved teacher known for her passion and dedication, passed away on July 24, 2023, in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was born on December 24, 1933, in Coleman, Texas. 

Family was everything to Louetta. She married the love of her life, Billy Fred Carroll on July 6, 1951, in Coleman, TX and they remained married for 63 years until his death in 2013. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her family. 

With a Master's degree in Education, Louetta dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a teacher. Her career spanned several decades during which she influenced countless students with her knowledge and nurturing spirit. Her students fondly remember her as an exceptional educator who instilled in them a love for learning that lasted a lifetime.

Beyond the classroom, Louetta had many interests and hobbies. An avid traveler, she embarked on numerous adventures throughout her life. She particularly enjoyed driving her late 80's fire-engine-red Mustang 5.0. Louetta also found great joy in caring for her potted plants and creating beautiful green spaces around her home. Her green thumb was admired by all who visited. One of her greatest joys was reading books to her grandchildren. The precious memories they shared will forever be cherished by both Louetta and her beloved grandchildren.

Louetta leaves behind a loving family who will dearly miss her presence, such as her children Gary Fred Carroll and his wife Jody of Fairchilds, TX; Marilou Duchaney and her husband Tom of Lake Jackson, TX; John Mark Carroll and his wife Jules Weldon of Austin, TX. Louetta's memory will also live on through her beloved grandchildren - Scott, Dana, Billy, Monica, RyanCole, RyalJames, and LylaGrace. In addition she was blessed with great-grandchildren - Maggie, Desmond, and Henry. She is also survived by her siblings Eddie Pitts, John Pitts, Martha Drake, and Helen Shepherd. Louetta is predeceased by her parents, Madeline Elizabeth Pitts Crabaugh and Walter Edward Pitts, and her sister Sara Jo Trammell. 

To honor Louetta’s beautiful life and legacy, visitation services will be held on July 27th, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson located at 401 Yaupon St, Lake Jackson, TX 77566. The funeral service will take place the following day on July 28th at 10:00 a.m., also at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. A graveside service will then be held at Brazoria Cemetery located at 113 Tennis St in Brazoria, immediately following the funeral service at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Louetta Pitts Carroll touched the lives of so many during her time with us. Her passion for education and love for her family will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her most. Louetta will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love of teaching, and her cherished moments spent with family and friends, and with that, the family requests those in attendance dress "Less Formal" and wear bright colors in Louetta's memory.
