Makayla Wolverton

Makayla Elise Wolverton, 8, of Sweeny, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at her residence. She was born May 23, 2013, in Houston, Texas to Ross and Nicolle Wolverton.

Makayla attended Sweeny Christian School until the second grade and was then homeschooled. She enjoyed softball, horses, crafts, baking, and showing her calf.

Makayla is preceded in death by her great grandpa Calvin Fletcher, uncles Larry Purkey and Bobby Rollins.

She is survived by her loving parents Ross and Nicolle Wolverton; sister Madalyn Sue Wolverton; brother Morgan Wolverton and wife Ashley; grandparents Larry and Gwen Lamb Jr. and Phyllis Wolverton; aunts Kaye Rollins, Ken Sue Doerfel, and Dana Purkey; uncles Justin “Bubba” Lamb, Michael and Jenna Wolverton, Wayne and DeAnna Simmons and Joey Lamb; cousins Khloe, Parker, Olivia, Marshal, Mason, and Matthew Wolverton; Alexa and Maddox Purkey, Colton and Raylan Miller, and Atlas Lamb, along with many other family members and friends.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

A memorial service celebrating Makayla’s life will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral, 634 S. Columbia Dr., West Columbia, Texas with Pastor Bruce Northam officiating.
