Sweeny, TX

Margaret Louise Masters, born on October 27, 1955, in Swindon, England, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Galveston, Texas. She was a beloved member of her community and will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the many cherished memories she created throughout her life.

Margaret enjoyed a fulfilling career as a baker for the Sweeny Independent School District, where she formed lasting friendships and impacted the lives of countless students and staff with her delicious creations. Her passion for baking was matched only by her commitment to her community. After retiring, Margaret devoted her time to volunteering in various capacities, including at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) and nursing homes where she shared delightful moments with residents, often accompanied by her beloved dog, Mister.

Margaret is remembered fondly by her family. She leaves behind her son, Ronnie Edgar (Laura Burnett) of Texas City; her daughter, Renee Edgar, also of Texas City; and her cherished grandchildren, Alexis Harrison and Trinity Edgar and great grandchildren Ezariah, Felicity, and Onyx Harrison. Margaret's siblings, David, Robin, Vicki, Mary, and Gary Wright, will also carry her memory forward, along with her special companion, aka her 'Man-Friend' Wayne McWhorter.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Masters, her parents, Maria Bertha (Montes) Wright and William Doyle Wright, and her brother, Bob Wright. Each of these relationships shaped her life, and their loss has left a void that will be felt by many.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on September 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home located at 634 S Columbia Dr, West Columbia, TX 77486.
