Marilyn Mcclendon

Marilyn Leone McClendon, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 16, 2017. She passed peacefully on the wings of the Lord in her Brazoria home surrounded by family. Marilyn was born in Lubbock, TX on May 10, 1948 to Ola Mae Benge and Robert Eston Richardson (both deceased). Marilyn was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and family member to us all. She touched each person she came in contact with the same kindness and giving nature as she gave to her own family. As a Nurse, in Southern Brazoria County, Marilyn's passion was helping others heal in both a clinical and home settings. Marilyn loved entertaining her large family at her home with food and fellowship.

Left to cherish Marilyn's everlasting memory are her husband, Edward "Pop" McClendon (husband of 27 years); children Kari Virginia Mays with husband Kellie of Lake Jackson TX, Ricky Brandon Pugh with wife Jauree of Lake Jackson TX., Jody Richards of Keller TX., Debi Schautteet with husband Kyle of Raleigh, NC, Phyllis Bulin & husband, Ronnie of Silsbee; daughter Belinda Guerra with husband Al of Austin TX., Scott McClendon of Brazoria TX., Edward McClendon Jr. of Brazoria,Thomas McClendon and spouse Kelly Murray of Houston TX, sisters Shirley Lee Stevens with husband Ray of Weatherford TX., Judy Golden of Keller TX., step-sister Joyce Pilkington of Weatherford; Marilyn was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and multiple nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her stepfather Obie Benge, brother Ricky Richardson, daughter Celeste Richards and step-sister June King. A heartfelt gesture of gratitude is sent out to Darcy Scott, an angelic caregiver to Marilyn and the family in her last days.

The arrangements are under the loving direction of Baker Funeral Home located at 634 S. Columbia Drive, West Columbia, TX. (979) 345-3232. The family will receive friends at Baker Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until Service Time at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to The American Cancer Society or cancer charity of your choice.
