Martha Doolen

Martha Collins Doolen, 75, of Sweeny, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born December 1, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas to the late Nina Mae (Lester) and Edgar Oscar Collins.

Martha graduated from Sweeny High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Sweeny. Martha enjoyed cooking, but most of all she enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years John Thomas Doolen, Jr., daughters Sherry Adams and husband Cameron, and Terri Williams and husband Dick; son John Kevin Doolen and wife Debbie; grandchildren Colton Adams, Gerrad Adams, Alaina Williams, Caleb Williams, Terrance Doolen, Katlin Harris, Logan Howell, Ethan Howell and Jessica Campbell; sisters Louise McDouglad and husband Joe, Becky Morris and husband Marlin and Carolyn Collins; great grandchildren Aunah, Nevaeh, Kannon, Kinsley, Kaiden, Sophie, Makynlee, Easton, Jacoby, Liam, Adalynn, Declan, Huxton, Kyler, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the First Baptist Church Sweeny, 402 N. Main St., with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Warren Rayburn and Pastor John Price officiating. Interment will follow in Sweeny Cemetery.
