Martha “Memaw” R. Thomas went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Martha was born on October 1, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana. In 1953, she met and married the love of her life, E.D. “Red” Thomas. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Clute, Texas, where they built a beautiful life together and raised their family. Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman who loved her family deeply and cherished nothing more than spending time with them. Her home and heart were always open to those she loved. Martha was a devoted Catholic and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria. She enjoyed trail riding, going to the movies, and making memories with her family and friends. She also cherished the many years she spent as a bus driver for BISD. Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, E.D. “Red” Thomas; her son, Ronnie Thomas; her parents; and her sister, Ginger. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Donnie Thomas and wife Rozanne, and Randy Thomas and wife Donna; her daughter, Susie Williams; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss her dearly. Martha’s legacy of love, faith, family, and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brazoria, followed by interment at Brazoria Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Thomas, Caleb Thomas, John Perez, Travis Thomas, Burns Phillips, and Charles Webster. Honorary pallbearers will be Rolando Vera, Shawn Roberts, and Dwayne Thomas. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
