Mary Schooler

October 22, 1929 — February 14, 2021

Mrs. Mary Lou Schooler of Sweeny, TX, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Lee Schooler of 59 years, sister to John Carl Jr. and Virginia Ellen, devoted mother of five: Ricky Lynn, Deborah Quinn, Bridget Gayle, Janet Leigh, and Jeanette Leah; loving grandmother of seven: Jason, Robyn, James, Ashley, Samantha, Kristen, and Steven; and great grandmother of eight: Camryn, Madison, Marlow, Knox, Asher, Charley, Micah, and Emery.

Mary Louise Ryman Schooler was born October 22, 1929, in Bay City, TX, to John Carl and Emily Alice Davis.

Upon graduation from Bay City High School in 1946, she moved to Houston, TX, to attend Southwestern Business School for two years. Her first job shortly after her graduation was with Phillips Petroleum Company in Old Ocean, TX, where she met her true love, Kenneth Lee. They married and resided in Sweeny, TX, to raise their family.

Kenneth and Mary Lou were members of Sweeny Church of Christ and served their church through ministry and charity work. Mary Lou also served her community by volunteering with several organizations: The Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Sweeny Hospital, Sweeny Civic Club, and Sweeny Garden Club. She had many hobbies which included golf, bridge, gardening, flower arranging, and oil painting.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Sweeny Hospital, 305 N. McKinney St., Sweeny, TX, 77480.

There will be a private graveside service for family only.
