Mary Starry

Mary Olive Starry, 85, fell asleep in death December 24, 2016. Mary was born in Lavaca County, TX on December 15, 1931 to Floyd and Maggie New. She married John K. Starry, January 21, 1956 at Schulenburg, TX which lasted 51 years until his death in 2007. She had 6 brothers and one sister. All her brothers have preceded her in death. Mary is survived by her sister, Alberta Sparks in Sweeny, TX; nieces, nephews and friends will miss her.

She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in the early 1970's. As a minister, she loved to talk to people about the Bible. Even though she had no biological children, she was young at heart. She liked to go to the beach, put together puzzles, play dominoes and other games.

The Sparks and Mickens family would like to thank the staff at the Matagorda House in Bay City, TX for taking such good care of Ms. Starry.

There will be a private family memorial service held for Ms. Starry.
