Matthew Neil Warncke, age 43, of Sweeny, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born in Wharton, Texas on September 1, 1982 to the late Neil Norman Warncke and Brenda Owens Franks.

Matthew attended public school in West Columbia, Texas. He was a lover of life and the life of any occasion. He was an avid sports fan that spent countless hours coaching his son’s baseball and football teams. He was a fan of both the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros. Long walks on the beach were another pastime that he enjoyed. His best friends were his two Rottweilers, Tuck and Ledger and he often took them both swimming in the river, it was safe to say that he enjoyed those outings as much as they did. His kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Neil Norman Warncke and one son, Tristan Warncke and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Left to cherish precious memories are his two sons, Sammy and Thomas Warncke; mother, Brenda Owens Franks and husband, Mark; two sisters, Laura Warncke and Racheyl Warncke; mother of his children, Rachel Stevenson as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for family and friends to gather and remember Matthew’s life will be 10:00 AM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Sweeny, 402 N Main Street, Sweeny, Texas 77480 with his funeral service to begin immediately following at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Price officiating. Burial will take place at the Sweeny Cemetery, Sweeny Texas.
