Melvina Meier (Grammie)

Melvina Scott Meier (Grammie), 81, of Brazoria, TX, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Park Manor Quail Valley in Missouri City. She was born September 25, 1940, in Rusk, Texas to the late Dicie Audess (Wallace) and L.O. Scott.

She graduated from West Columbia High School. She was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Brazoria. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard Meier, granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Hopwood and son-in-law Bill Hopwood.

Melvina is survived by her daughters Cynthia Hopwood of Brazoria, Susan McCarty of Dallas, Sharon Ray (Allen) of Bryan, and Cathie Heble (Kevin) of Lake Jackson; grandchildren Natalie Stevens (Jeff) of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Benjamin Hopwood (Melissa) of Sweeny, Morgan Ray of Bryan, Kaitlyn Dubose (Crockett) of Dallas, Donald Hopwood (Caitlynn) of Sweeny, Layne Heble (fiancé Alexis Ledbetter) of Lake Jackson, Mason Ray of Bryan, and Landrie Heble of Lake Jackson; great grandchildren Preston, Gwen, Vivian Stevens, Elizabeth, Carder, Bellamy Hopwood, Remy, Rhett Dubose and Luke Hopwood.

A private celebration of Melvina’s life will be held at a later date.
