Mildred Phillips

Mildred Lonnice Ross Phillips, 73 of Sweeny, passed away at her home March 3, 2017. She was born on October 19, 1943 in Brownswood, Texas to Alonzo Milton and Mildred Jewel (Rodenburg) Ross. Mildred worked for 30 years in Galveston in the insurance field. She loved traveling to Jackson, Wyoming, collecting kachina dolls, and bead work. She also loved spending time reading, gardening, being with her grandkids and fur babies, and spending time and having lunch with her high school girlfriends.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2107 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with John Price officiating.

Mildred is survived by her son, Kenneth McConnell and wife, Anita; sister Sharlie Ann Hoskins; grandsons, Jason McConnell and Kennedy McConnell; niece, Sara Lynn Hoskins; and nephew, David Lee Hoskins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mildred's name to the Leukemia Foundation.
