Nancy Jean Norton

January 19, 1956 — November 23, 2025

West Columbia, TX

Nancy Jean Norton, born on January 19, 1956, in Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

For 25 years, Nancy dedicated herself to working at Kroger Supermarkets, where she made many friends and left a lasting impact on her coworkers and customers alike. Her warmth and kindness were evident in everything she did, as she poured her heart into serving others with a smile. Outside of her professional life, Nancy found joy in the simple pleasures. In recent years, she cherished her time watching "Leave it to Beaver," often finding solace and comfort in its nostalgic simplicity.

Nancy had a keen interest in shows that delved into the mysteries of crime, particularly enjoying the thrill of unsolved mysteries. She was always ready with a cold Pepsi Cola in one hand and a Misty 120's cigarette in the other, embodying a carefree spirit that reminded those around her to appreciate the small moments in life.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, John Norton, who stood by her side through every joy and heartache. She was a proud mother to Leesa Michelle Osborne and her husband Darrell of Angleton, TX, and David Allan Pennington, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of West Columbia, TX. Her legacy continues in her beloved grandchildren: Hannah, Hayden, Jake, Chelsea, Caitlyn, Blake, Dylan, Alyssa, and Grace, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. As a great-grandmother, she delighted in the laughter and energy of Jasey, Chloe, Cordelia, Kurtis, Amara, and Morgan, cherishing every moment spent with her expanding family.

Nancy is also remembered fondly by many siblings, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, each of whom carries a piece of her heart with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence E. (Birdsong) and Tommy Joe Lincecum, and her sister Sue Ella Smith who surely welcomed her with open arms.

Her life was a testament to love, strength, and resilience, leaving behind memories that will be cherished forever. The family invites all who knew and loved Nancy to join them in celebrating her remarkable life. Visitation will be held on December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia, TX, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM and interment at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery.
