Neil Norman Warncke, a devoted United States Postal Worker and Army veteran, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, in Angleton, Texas. Born on January 14, 1942, in Rosenberg, Texas, Neil’s life was a testament to steadfast dedication and quiet fortitude.
From his early years in Rosenberg to his service in the Army, Neil embraced life with a strong sense of duty and commitment. His career with the United States Postal Service was marked by loyalty and diligence, delivering more than just mail but also a connection between people and communities. Neil’s work was more than a profession—it was a calling that reflected his dependable spirit.
His legacy is carried forward by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved daughter Laura Warncke and her husband Ross Lassiter; his daughter Racheyl Warncke; and his son Matthew Warncke. The joy of Neil's life extended through his grandchildren—Sammy Warncke, Thomas Warncke, Bradley Smith, Taylor Robertson, Conner Warncke, and Tyler Wilson—as well as his great-grandchildren Natalie Wilson and Presley Wilson. Standing beside the family is his sister, Barbara Wittneben, whose presence offers a cherished bond of shared memories and enduring care.
Neil’s departure leaves a heartache tempered by the remembrance of those who have gone before him: his father Alvin Warncke and mother Esther Wooster Warncke, who laid the foundations of his character; his brother Warren Warncke and sister Janice Pryor, siblings who shared life’s joys and trials; grandson, Tristan Warncke and Michael Dugan, son-in-law, whose memories enrich the family tapestry.
The community will gather to honor Neil’s life, recalling the faithfulness that defined him. The visitation will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, on May 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service at the same location. Burial will take place thereafter at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville, Texas.
