Nelda Sutton

Nelda Ruth Sutton (Carver) 73 of Sweeny, Texas, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Nelda was a job's daughter and a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 349, Ironton, Missouri. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and was a hard worker. She was also a member of Marble Creek United Baptist Church and later became a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Acres in Brazoria, Texas. Nelda enjoyed many hobbies such as cooking, baking, gardening, canning, sewing, reading, and camping.

The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, Missouri with her brother-in-laws, Rev. Larry Sutton and Rev. Mark Sutton officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am until service time on Thursday. Burial will follow at Arcadia Valley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Devin Sutton, Clyde Lewis, Mark Sutton, Jacob Sutton, Larry Sutton, and Edward Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Carver and Jack Reese.

Left to cherish her memory are beloved son, Devin Wayne Sutton; brother, Troy Carver and wife Joyce of Park Hills, Missouri; sister, Debra Lewis and husband Clyde of Lake Jackson, Texas; brother-in-laws and sister-in laws, Larry Sutton and wife Cindy of Arcadia Missouri, Mark Sutton and wife Sheree of Arcadia, Missouri, and Jack Reese of Arcadia, Missouri.

Nelda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Ray Sutton; son, Darin Dean Sutton; parents, Lilbern Ray Carver and Hazel Marie Carver; and sisters, Bonnie May Stegall and Betty Penberthy.

Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends mourn her loss.
