Obituary

Nelda Ruth Travis of Brazoria, Tx entered the Heavens Gate on March 12, 2024, at the age of 79.  She was born November 18, 1944, in Talce, Tx.   Ruth believed faithfully in Jesus Christ.  Ruth gave her life to Jesus Christ when she was a young girl. She grew up in Church of Christ and later when she moved to Brazoria, Tx and married she attended First Baptist Church.  She was a loving and amazing Mother, Grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.   Ruth was a good cook but didn’t really enjoy being in the kitchen.  She loved having holidays in her home.  Her turkey and dressing was the absolute best. She would make this strawberry cake that was fantastic and she even won first place in a bake off.

Ruth’s pride and joy were her three children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Marlene and husband Wade Klimple, Donna and husband Cirk Camfield, Kelly and wife Charla Little.

Her grandchildren are Bradley and wife Delane Elliott, Brandon Elliott, Kacie and husband Joe Williams, Taylor and wife Alexis Murphy and Mikaila Klimple, Kristie and husband Chris Pusterjovsky, Keri and husband Chance Waligura, Misty and husband Shane Meeks, Amanda and husband Cullen Standard, Chloe Little, Kenneth and wife April Little, Carol Ann Hultman, Donald and wife Corna Williams, Kendall and husband Kelyn Davis.

Great grandchildren are Hunter, Fisher, and Makenzi Williams, James Pusterjovsky, Camden and Karstyn Waligura, Braelynn, Jensyn Standard, Peyton, Carol Joann (CJ) and Charley Davis, Avani, Ari Williams, Samuel, Mattilynn and Avery Meeks, Alexia and Elijah Coe.

Funeral will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. at C.T. Baker and Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia with service, prayer, slide show and music.

Interment will follow at Gulf Prairie Cemetery in Brazoria County.  Serving as pallbearers are Shane Meeks, Denis Tyson, Bradley and Brandon Elliott, Joe Williams and Cullen Standard.
