Nell Meyer

March 13, 1936 — February 13, 2017

Nell Meyer, 80, of Sweeny passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 13, 1936 in Brenham, TX to Bernard Fritz and Lydia Marten Kettler.
She was lovingly called "Mymine" by her family which originated from two granddaughters squabbling over her. She was a very loving wife and mother. She was devoted to her husband and 3 children and welcomed their spouses with open arms into her family.

Nell and LA lived in an RV and traveled to all the states for over 25 years, such closeness is a true example of their devotion to one another. They did everything together because they couldn't bear being apart. They were not complete without the other. This makes her passing so difficult on her surviving spouse. She always made sure that the family stayed together during good and bad times. She is the core of the Meyer Family.

Together, Nell and LA are a truly loving, devoted and passionate married couple that we all strive to achieve.

Nell Meyer will be truly, truly missed by her family and all who knew her.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Loyd A. Meyer, Jr.; son Michael Ray Meyer (Paula) of Brazoria; Rhonda Kay Cossey (Strum) of Sweeny; Mark Loyd Meyer (DeeDee) of Emerson, Arkansas; sister Bernice Riley of Houston; grandchildren, Tracy Smith (John) of Sweeny; Sheri Denton (Mikey) of Sweeny; Matthew Meyer (Jennifer) of West Columbia; Shay Meyer of Richwood, Tyler Cossey of Houston, Malori Meyer of the Woodlands and Kayli Meyer of Indianapolis, IN along with 7 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Gladys Weideman and Helen Fritsche.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Hospice team for all the loving care and compassion they demonstrated while caring for Nell during her last days.
