Nettie Louise Truitt
March 15, 1937 - April 3, 2026
Nettie Louise Truitt of Brazoria, TX, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, just three weeks after celebrating her 89th birthday surrounded by her loving family.
Louise was born on March 15, 1937 in Ohatchee, Alabama to George and Letha Reaves. At the age of 18 she traveled to Texas during spring break and met the love of her life, Jake Robert Truitt. The two were married on June 22, 1958 and from that moment forward Louise knew Texas was home. Together they built a beautiful life and raised a loving family of five children, which grew to include more than 15 grandchildren, around 30 great grandchildren, and a few great great grandchildren.
Louise was known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit. She loved caring for her birds, spending time with her family and welcoming any child she met as if they were her own. Her kindness and generosity touched countless lives, and she was cherished by many who called her “Mom” and “Grandma,” whether by blood or by love.
In her later years Louise found joy in crocheting blankets and pillows for her grandchildren and loved ones. Each handmade piece was a symbol of her love, care, and dedication to her family. Her legacy of warmth, compassion, and devotion will live on through the many lives she touched.
Nettie Louise Truitt will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
