Raymond Cecil Taylor, 92 of West Columbia, Texas passed away at Cypress Woods in Angleton, Texas on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. He was born August 15, 1924 in Rosenberg, Texas to Wallace C. and Julia (Barak) Taylor, Sr. He was a maintenance supervisor for the Phillips Petroleum for over 30 years, was in civil service in 1942, Served during World War II from 1943 - 1946 and during the Korean Conflict from 1950 - 1951 then was an active reservist from 1949 - 1953 in the United States Army.
Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at First Baptist Church in West Columbia with burial following at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 7, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Frank Reid, Mike Reid, Gene Hightower, Roy Anderson and Tommy Schuelke with honorary pallbearers Alan Schuelke, Ted Walker and Charlie Tindol.
Raymond is survived by wife, Wanda Taylor, son, Ronald Taylor, daughter, Rita Hercik and husband, Harvey; daughter-in-law, Tricia Taylor, grandson, Richard Binderup and wife, Lacey, great-granddaughter Emilee and Haylee Binderup, and sister-in-law, Mildred Taylor along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wallace Taylor, Jr., and sisters, Mildred Deiss and Julie Shelton.
