Rebecca Elston Brown, beloved mother,, and friend passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Pflugerville, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on April 1, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, Becky lived a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.
The heart and soul of her family, Becky was everything a mother should and could be—kind, understanding, loving, and caring. Her children, Jack Crouch and Amy Edwards, along with Jack's wife, Lee Ann, and Amy's partner, Jeff Thiele, fondly remember their mother as one who always put her children and grandchildren first. Becky's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her ability to nurture and cherish those she loved most, leaving a legacy of warmth and generosity that will be forever cherished.
Becky took great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was passionate about animals and devoted her final days to crocheting blankets for animals in local shelters. Her interests also included crocheting, tackling word searches and puzzles, and enjoying the heartwarming stories that the Hallmark Channel offers. Through these activities, she brought joy not only to herself but to countless animals and individuals, showing her unwavering spirit of giving.
She is survived by her adoring grandchildren, Jeff Edwards, Austin Crouch, Harlon Crouch, Jordan Pointer, Harlee Riley, Wil Fisher, and Victoria Harris, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ellie Edwards, Ryleigh DiDomenico, Bailey Powell, Teddy Fisher, Amber McFeley, and Raymond McFeley. Becky also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were deeply touched by her presence.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Tince Weitzel and Birch Blalock; her first husband, Dennis Crouch; her second husband, James Brown; and her brothers, Terry Blalock and Barry Blalock. They await her in a place where love abounds, and we take solace in knowing that they are together once more.
A memorial service honoring Becky's extraordinary life will be held on August 23, 2025, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas, starting at 3:00 PM.
