Obituary

Reverend Bob Flowers

Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”

On Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2026, Reverend Bob Flowers finished his earthly race and entered heaven to receive his heavenly rewards. He faithfully served Christ and preached the gospel for 74 years, and we are confident he heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Bob was born on July 7, 1934, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Marshall and Julia Flowers. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1952, enlisted in the U.S. Navy that same year, and served as a medic aboard ships during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955.

He met Patricia Ann Shaw of Dallas, Texas, and they married in 1955. Soon afterward, they left Dallas to attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Bob was ordained with the Assemblies of God in 1958 and served as a pastor for 74 years in Missouri, Mississippi, and Texas, ministering at ten churches. For 65 of those years, he served in the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God at eight different churches. He could be said that every place God planted him he flourished, the church flourished and he fulfilled the call of God on his life. He left a trail behind him of changed lives, churches built (five) and the Kingdom of God advanced. He left a Legacy admired by all and one that will be hard to live up to. Well done Dad and Pastor Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Brazoria First Assembly, 600 South Market Street, Brazoria, Texas 77422. Burial will follow at Brazoria Cemetery.
