Richard Boulis, 85, of Brazoria passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 19, 1936, in Findlay, Ohio to the late Ruth Naomi (Sands) and Don Wilson Boulis. After high school in Sandusky, Ohio, he attended General Motors Institute in Defiance, Ohio.
Richard served six years in the United States Army. His career after the Army was design and production engineer for the industries producing retail advertising displays in Sandusky, then Kettering, Ohio.
Richard and his wife Helen were married February 1, 1964. They had four children Dennis, Stephen Boulis and wife Linda, Jeanette Blackwell and husband Robert, and Donald; sister Deanna Streng; brother Duane Boulis; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His love and appreciation for his family was evident throughout his life.
After retirement he enjoyed wood working and built a log home near Chillicothe, Ohio. He studied the Bible and took classes at Bible Colleges. He was especially involved in witnessing and missions. He and Helen hosted Missionaries in their home. They also participated in work mission trips to Alaska and Dry Creek Baptist Camp in Louisiana.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in Brazoria.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 118 West Texas Street, in Brazoria, Texas with Pastor Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Brazoria Cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Dry Creek Baptist Camp, Dry Creek, Louisiana 70637, or the First Baptist Church of Shay Acres, 18034 County Road 463, Brazoria, Texas 77422.
