Richard Cary Wright, 80, passed from this life on June 4, 2026.
He was born on July 1, 1945. Richard lived a life defined by devotion to family, perseverance through life's challenges, and a quiet strength that carried him through both good times and difficult seasons. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought comfort and stability to those who knew and loved him.
Most importantly, Richard was a Christian whose faith in Jesus Christ guided his life. Through times of joy and hardship he maintained a strong trust in the Lord finding comfort, strength, and peace in God's promises. His faith was not only something he believed, but something he lived. Richard provided an example of steadfast trust and perseverance for his family.
Richard shared a loving life with his wife Doris Richardson Wright. Together they built a family that became the center of his world. He was the proud father of Christy Dawn Wright Cummins and Richard (Rick) C. Wright II. He was a Vocational Education Teacher and owner of A-1 Radiator in Brazoria, Tx.
He treasured the time spent with his grandchildren Zachary Cummins and wife Kayla, Clayton Reichert, Mazzie Wright, Emily Cummins, Noel Wright, Austin Cummins, and Lydia Wright. One of his greatest joys was becoming a great-grandfather to Sydney Mae Cummins. All of his grandchildren will miss Papa's $2.00 bills, his tubes of Burt's Bees, and most of all his unconditional love.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter Christy, son Rick and wife Sara, sister, Shari K. and husband Richard Gordon; sisters-in-law, Emma Richardson, Anna Dienert, and Genevia Wright. His 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Helen Crager Wright, his brother, Ronald Wright, granddaughter Ashley Cummins, father and mother-in-law Robert and Louise Richardson.
Those who knew Richard will remember a man who loved his family deeply and whose life was measured not by accomplishments or possessions, but by the relationships he nurtured and the lives he touched. Throughout life, he remained steadfast in his love for his family, offering support, wisdom, and encouragement.
While his family grieves the loss of his physical presence, they find comfort in the assurance that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully trusted throughout his life. They also find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in the legacy of faith and love that will continue through future generations.
