Robert Henderson

Robert E. "Bob" Henderson passed from this life on August 31, 2018 in Angleton at the age of 89. He was born in Dewey, Oklahoma to Lowell and Lela Jones Henderson on December 21, 1928.
Bob graduated from Bartlesville College High School with the Class of 1946. He joined the U.S. Army and he served at several bases including Fort Bragg, North Carolina and then moved back to Bartlesville. After receiving his bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University, he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in the Research and Development and later transferred to the Sweeny Refinery. Bob began working for Dow Chemical in the Oyster Creek Division and was later assigned to South Korea to work in one of Dow's plants. He returned and retired in 1986 from Dow and continued his career at Rhodia in Freeport until 1995.
Bob was kind hearted and always put his family first. He will be missed by many. Above all he was a caring and nurturing Dad and a loving husband and will be missed greatly by his wife and children.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Ruth E. Henderson; children, Arden Henderson & wife, Carol, Lorraine Tyler & husband, Mark, Renee Wilson, Sue Strother & husband, Marty; grandchildren, Rachel Cantu & husband, Jesus, Justin Strother & wife, Megan, Jordan Strother, Jarrett Strother & wife, Natalie, & Carter Calkins; great grandchildren, Sierra, Ariana, Kayla, & Bianca Cantu, Charleigh Strother, Olive Strother, niece, Paulette Henderson Bell and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Henderson, and sister, June Warner.
The family wants to extend their gratitude to the caretakers and staff on Express and Mulberry at Country Village Care. We would especially like to thank Stephen, Ellie, Violet, Virginia, Deja from Country Village and Janice with AMED Hospice and staff for their care and compassion.
A private funeral service was previously held.
