Ronald Wayne Franklin was born August 27, 1938 in Houston, Texas and passed Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Galveston Texas. Ronald graduated from Sweeny High School in 1958 and he joined the Army that same year. He served his country until 1962. Ronald was a member of the Shady Acres Baptist Church.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Laird and Gus Franklin, and son, Ivan Franklin.
He is survived by his children, Leslie Franklin and Steve Franklin and wife, Olivia Franklin. Grandchildren include Leslie Franklin, Wade Franklin and wife, Amber Franklin, Emma Franklin, Blaike Franklin, Blaize Franklin, Peyton Franklin, and Dakota Franklin. Ronald also had 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, August 10, 2020 at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia. The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 am until service time. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Perry Cemetery in Houston. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Truitt, Leslie Franklin, Wade Franklin, Blaize Franklin, Clint Truitt, and Peyton Franklin.
