Ronald James “Ron” Reed, 53, of Brazoria passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Sweeny, Texas.

He was born on August 9, 1967 in Freeport, TX to Ronnie & Marketia Reed.

Ron graduated from Columbia High School in 1985. A short time later, he married the love of his life, Beetsie on December 5, 1997. He was a hard-working man that dedicated 6 years to Millwright Local Union #2232, 10.5 years at INEOS as a maintenance supervisor, then moved on to Lyondell Basell as a rotating equipment specialist for the last 10 years.

In his younger days, Ron spent some time in the bucking chutes. He enjoyed the thrill and excitement that came with bull riding. “Captain Ron” was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and golfing. You could always find him in his shop, watching the Dallas Cowboys and working on a project. Above all, there was nothing he loved more than being PawPaw Ron to his 4 grandkids.

Ron is survived by his parents Ronnie & Marketia Reed of Eustace, TX; loving wife of 23 years, Sharon “Beetsie” Reed; daughters, Sequoia Reed of College Station, Maegan (Mike) Pantalion of Santa Fe and Mandy (Josh) Daspit of Angleton; grandchildren, Mikey & Maecy Pantalion of Santa Fe, and Gage & Stella Daspit of Angleton; brother, Stephen & Margie Reed and niece Lauren Pulley; as well as numerous family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Neta Reed and James & Mary Baker; father-in-law, Billy Joe Wleczyk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne & Janette Stuessel.
