Roy Meacham

April 22, 1934 — February 9, 2017

A private family ceremony will be held for Roy Leonard Meacham who went to heaven on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the age of 82.

Roy was born April 22, 1934 in Wattensaw, Arkansas to James Leonard and Minnie (Short) Meacham. He graduated from Lonoke High School in 1951. On June 6, 1952 he married Mary Elizabeth Goldsworthy in Lonoke, Arkansas. They proudly celebrated 64 years of marriage. He moved to Texas at the age of 24 and began his career at Phillips 66 in Old Ocean. He was hired on as a Operator's Helper and left with the position of Operations Night Superintendent. He retired from Phillips with 42 years of service. He also owned and operated Meacham Sign Company in Bay City, TX. He was an electrician, plumber, mechanic, fisherman, ski boat driver, carpet grass farmer, cattle rancher and one heck of a pool and domino player. Roy was a loving husband, father and PePaw. He spent his life providing for his family that he dearly loved.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Goldsworthy) Meacham; three daughters, Melissa (Meacham) Lowery and her husband, Mike of Angleton, Melinda Meacham of Lake Jackson, TX. and Melody (Meacham) Durham of Irving, TX; four grandchildren, Heath Lowery and his wife, Jessica of Hockley, Tx, Jamee (Lowery) McClure and her husband, Matthew of Angleton, TX., Dylan Durham of Houston, Tx and Macy Durham of Dallas, TX; one great grandson Levi McClure of Angleton, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie (Short) Meacham; brothers, J.W Meacham and Carl Meacham and his sisters, Thelma (Meacham) Stevens and Winnie Dell (Meacham) Jones.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).
