Rueben Charles Wleczyk, 71 of Damon, passed away Wednesday April 12th 2017 in Sugar Land, Texas. He was born on January l7th, 1946 in Bay City, Texas to Joseph and Helen (Petrosky) Wleczyk.

Rueben graduated Columbia High School and attended Sam Houston State University. He worked over 40 years with his brother, Michael, at R&M Suppliers, a trucking and construction company in West Columbia. Rueben was a hard worker, up before dawn in the dump truck and sometimes not ending the day until after sunset. He always said, "When there's work, you have to work! " Rueben also spent nearly his entire life farming and ranching with his family in the Damon area, raising cotton and milo. He enjoyed competing in BBQ cook offs with his nephew and great-nephew, Kenny and Mike, and friends.

Rueben was known for always wanting to help others and never took the word "NO" for an answer. If you just mentioned you might need something, Rueben was there the next day with it.
