He enjoyed coaching and officiating many sports, teaching children, and hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church for 62 years where he taught Sunday School and Kids Club, was a MYF leader, and a church trustee. After retirement, he enjoyed working on his land and with his cattle at home and the family farm. He most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
