Samuel Valma, 58 of Sweeny, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was born March 11, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Jesse and Marguerite Valma. He graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and was a pipefitter and millwright in the shipbuilding industry for over 30 years, he served during the Vietnam Era in the United States Navy on the Pyro II ammunition ship. Samuel enjoyed working in his yard, family gathering and outdoor cooking and loved watching football.

Samuel is survived by his, wife of 16 years, Lisa and sons, Samuel Valma and wife, Cara; Dalton Sheffield and Ethan Valma; daughters, Rachel Valma (Juan), Jessica Valma Sthram (Kevin), and Christina Boudreaux along with, Lia Valma, siblings, Jesse (Linda); Charles (Maggie), Jami (Juan); along with Geraldine, Ruth and Vicki; grandchildren, Jovanii, Jasmine, Juliana, Jeremiah, Marques, Autumn, Dylan, Marissa, Antonia, Corey, Aundrea, Nathaniel, Kaycen, Kayden and Aaron and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, James and John Valma.

The Family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia from 3:00pm until 5:00pm. There will be Military Honors being presented at 4:00pm.
