She attended and graduated from Slocum High School in 1940. She married the late James Marshall Oglesby, January 1946, and they lived and raised their family in West Columbia, TX. Other churches she was a member of were First Baptist of Sudan and First Baptist of San Marcos Texas. She also enjoyed sewing for her family, Bible study, and gospel music. She could often be heard singing her favorite hymns.

Lucille enjoyed years of working. She officially retired from Tenneco at the age of 65 but continued to work part time until the age of 75 because she loved working and loved people.
