Stanley William Kutach, 79, of Sweeny passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026.
He was born on July 5, 1946 in Wharton, Texas to the late Vencil and Millie Heinrich Kutach.
Stanley was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School in 1964. He grew up in a farming family that taught him the value of hard work. Stanley married Peggy Lanette Mazoch of Sealy on June 29, 1968. After serving in the United States Army Reserves, he started working for Dow Chemical in Freeport, Tx in 1968.
Stanley and Peggy left Lake Jackson after ten years and built their home in Sweeny in 1977. At Dow Chemical, he started as an Operator, became a Machinist, then retired 41 years later as a Productive Preventive Maintenance Technician in 2009. He was a dedicated husband to Peggy for 57 years. Coming from a family where he was one of 11 children, Stanley really enjoyed the many large family gatherings that were full of laughter, happiness and good food. He enjoyed coaching his son's Little League teams and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sweeny. Stanley was welcoming to everyone, always had a joke and his laugh was known to all who spent any amount of time around him. His deep love for Peggy, his son Scott, daughter-in-law Helen and grandchildren Madeleine and Reagan was shown in everything he did. He was a selfless person who never missed any of his grandchildren's school and extra curricular events. Stanley enjoyed all outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, managing his stock pond and working on his land. His kindness, work ethic, dedication to family and the examples he worked hard to set were an inspiration to all. He will be greatly missed by everyone and never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, V.J. Kutach, Ervin Kutach, Leon Kutach, Mary Orsak, Sophie Ezell, Lillie Mae Pustejovsky, Daniel Kutach and Evelyn Stavinoha. He is survived by his wife Peggy Kutach, son Scott Kutach and wife Helen Kutach, grandchildren Madeleine Kutach and Reagan Kutach, brothers Eugene Kutach, Adolph Kutach and wife Clara, brother-in-law Kerry Mazoch and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia with a rosary recited at 7:00pm.
