Stephen Ray Pierce, age 69, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Ray was born in New Gulf, TX on October 8, 1954 to the late Wayne and Rena Bullock Pierce. He graduated from Sweeny High School in 1973. To know him was to love him. He had a way of making everyone around him a better person with his inspiration and intelligence. Ray was inspirational and touched many lives. He worked in the refinery business for 43 years. He is better known to say, “you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with”. He always admired and respected his colleagues. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed racing horses, playing golf, baseball, and football. Ray was better known as “PawPaw” and his biggest blessings were his children and grandchildren whom he loved deeply.
Left to cherish in his memory are sons, Cory Pierce and wife Jessalyn, Greg Pierce and Chrissy Taylor, brothers Perry Pierce and wife Miurel, Randy Pierce and wife Charlene, Jay Pierce and wife Toinette, sister-in-law Nancy Pierce, and grandchildren Paisley and Peyton Pierce, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
