Thelma Jean Edwards Goolsby

Thelma Jean Edwards Goolsby was born on January 8, 1934. She passed away on March 28, 2026 while in Hospice care at The Fountains in Sweeny, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her previous husband of 23 years, James Edwards and her late husband of 22 years, R.D. Goolsby; one son, Michael Edwards; granddaughter, Marion Edwards and grandson, Robert Goolsby.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Edwards and wife, Donna and Gary Edwards and wife, Ann; daughter-in-law, Jan Edwards; stepson, Mickey Goolsby and wife, Brenda; brother, John and wife, Nora; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She also has many, many friends including her special friends at the Fountains Assisted Living in Sweeny.

Thelma Jean was a resident in the West Columbia-Brazoria area for 65 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Brazoria. Her precious Spirit will be missed by all.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM at C T Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 S Columbia Dr., West Columbia, Texas with funeral services to begin at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia.

Pallbearers will be James Edwards, Micah Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, John Allen, Robert Percival, Steve Grimes

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Fountains Assisted Living in Sweeny, Texas. 

The family has a special thank you for Amber and the entire staff of The Fountains and Lori and the entire staff of Choice Hospice.
