Thomas Dean Williamson, a beloved family man and esteemed engineer, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Sweeny, Texas, at the age of 74. Born on October 8, 1950, in Luling, Texas, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication to his profession and profound love for his family.
Throughout his career as an engineer, Thomas exemplified commitment and diligence, earning the respect of his colleagues and contributing significantly to the field. He relished in the meticulous nature of engineering, yet his greatest pride lay in his role as a devoted family man. There was nothing he would not do for his loved ones, a testament to the deep bonds he cultivated with each member of his family.
Thomas enjoyed spending time maintaining his yard, where he found solace and satisfaction. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was particularly fond of his teams, the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans, often sharing spirited moments with family and friends while cheering on his favorites.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma (Walker) Williamson, who stood beside him through thick and thin. He cherished his daughters, Jennifer Davenport and her husband Elijah of Spring, Texas, and Julie West and her companion Devin of West Columbia, Texas. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, A.J. Davenport, Jaylee Davenport, Camden Davenport, and Natalee West, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, who brought him immeasurable joy.
In addition to his immediate family, Thomas is also survived by his sister Mary Ruth Blaschke and her husband E.J. of Montgomery, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents, Ruby (Sanders) and L.D. Williamson, as well as his brothers, Duane Williamson and Billy Joe Williamson, and his in-laws, Charles and Sandra Walker, and sister-in-law Trish Walker.
A memorial service honoring Thomas's life will be held at Gulf Coast Christian Center, located at 725 W Brazos Ave, West Columbia, TX 77486, on July 14, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM, with the service concluding at 12:00 PM.
Thomas Dean Williamson will be missed dearly but remembered lovingly by those who had the fortune of knowing him. His legacy as a family-oriented individual and a dedicated professional will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
