Tommie Helton

Tommie Sue Helton, age 66, of Wild Peach, passed away Sunday morning, February 7, 2021. She was the daughter of the late August and Ruby Helton.  She is survived by her beloved son Elric “Ric” Helton, and two brothers, James and Michael Helton, and numerous other family members.

Tommie Sue was a “Tomboy” and a “Country Girl”.  She was a lifelong native of Wild Peach.  She looked out for her neighbors, loved animals and the country life.  She may have ventured away a time or two, but always found her way back to the “Peach”. She was a graduate of Columbia High School, and eventually followed in her Dad’s footsteps and went to work for the Dow Chemical Company, where she worked for 29 years before retiring as a Security Officer in 2009.

She was active in her community and became a familiar face out at the Brazoria County Fair Cook Off as a volunteer, as well as the Lion’s Club. She was devoted to her family.  They were the heartbeat of who she was.  She was a loving Mom, devoted Sister, doting Aunt, dear Niece, and caring Cousin.

She had a sassy attitude and infectious laughter.  Loyal to all she loved, and she loved big.  She was a friend to many.  If you knew her for very long, she had a way of drawing you in and making you feel like family.  She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by us all.

Please spread her message of love, devotion, family and friendship.  Reach out and be good to one another.

She was diagnosed with NAFLD, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.  She was placed on the liver transplant list.  She passed due to complications from her liver disease.

A visitation with the family will be on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. At C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, in West Columbia, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the Chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, in West Columbia, TX. Graveside services will be private.
