Vera Swanner

Our beloved Vera Elaine Swanner entered into God’s Kingdom on November 21, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. Elaine was born to Ervin and Vera Danford on December 29th, 1945 in West Columbia, TX. She graduated from West Columbia High School.

After graduation, Elaine married James (Sonny) Swanner Sr., a match truly made in heaven. Elaine & Sonny went on to have 2 children, James Jr. and Glenn. She was a devoted “Gammie” to Rachael and Jeremy. Elaine was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. She was a faithful member of the Brazoria Church of Christ. Elaine was passionate about volunteering in the community and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi- Zi Tau Tau. Elaine’s most treasured times were spent traveling and with family.

Elaine joins her son, Glenn, daughter-in-law Wendy, and her parents, Ervin and Vera Danford in Heaven. Left to treasure her memory are her husband, James Swanner Sr; son, James Swanner Jr. and wife Marilyn; as well as her grandchildren Rachael Palm and husband Derrick; Jeremy Swanner; and five great-grandchildren; brother Ronald Danford and wife Diane; sister Shelia Finch and husband Joseph.

Elaine’s funeral service will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 S. Columbia Dr. West Columbia Tx at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, with burial at Brazoria Cemetery. Rick Moore will officiate the services. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021.
