Virginia Lee Menefee

(March 3, 1932 – February 11, 2026)

Virginia Lee Menefee passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The oldest child of Lee and Carrie Schneider she was born in the small community of Gobble Creek. She lived there surrounded by a large extended family until her family moved to Louise where she graduated high school. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing in Houston Texas. She worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement, working the last 30 years as an Industrial Nurse for the Lubrizol Corp in Deer Park Texas.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Carrol Schneider, sister and brother-in-law Lois and Adolph Sablatura, and brothers-in-law Dan Sablatura, Walter Snyder and Norbert (Peewee) Bezdek.

She is survived by her loving husband of 75 years Thomas Nelson Menefee Jr., daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Robert White, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Steve Matlock, son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Donna Menefee; grand children and their spouses Carrie and Chance Rushing, Kate and Casey Graham, Jennifer and Derek Hissam, Nathan and Amber Menefee, Carol and Anson Hargadine; Great Grandchildren Hayden, Amos, Mollee and Marshal Rushing, Reese and Macey Graham, Evelyn Hissam, and Emet and Aletheia Menefee. She is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley Schneider, sisters Jeanita Bezdek and Juanita Snyder, brother and sister-in-law Darrell and Dorothy Schneider, and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins.

Virginia and Tom were long time residents of Pasadena where they were founding members of the Parkwood United Methodist Church. After moving to Damon in 1999 they joined the Columbia Methodist Church. Virginia particularly loved serving with the Monday Morning Methodist and attending Sunday School.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Virginia will be missed by her family and friends. Her loving spirit, seeming endless energy, love of gardening, sense of humor and faithfulness will not be forgotten.
