Walter David Beck, 82, of Brazoria, TX passed from this life on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was born on June 2, 1934 in Scooba, Mississippi to Willie Walter and Katybel Lang Beck. He moved to Imperial, TX at the age of 13 and graduated from Buena Vista High School. He attended Tarlton State University and Sul Ross University where he was a member of the ROTC. While there he met and married Billie JO Moore. He then went to work in the oilfields of West Texas. In 1957, he went to work for Dow Chemical where he worked for 30 years, mostly in research, and retired in January of 1987. David is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Debra Jane Tate and husband Randall and Denise Rene Eubanks and husband, David (all of Brazoria); grandchildren, Jennifer Smith and husband, Chris of Huntsville, Janell Massey and fiancé, Bill Hayes of Sweeny, Randa and Heidi Tate of Brazoria, David Tate of Austin, Kayla Eubanks and fiancé, Scott Swift of Sweeny, Ryan Eubanks of the United States Marine Corp, and Colton Eubanks of Brazoria; great-grandchildren Taeghan Denbow and Karsynn Massey of Sweeny, Raeleigh, Kyndall and Grant Benner of Huntsville, and Ryan and Christian Montgomery of Brazoria; one sister, Violet Howe of San Antonio; brother-in-law Richard Behler of Booneville, Arkansas, and brother-in-law, Robert Willson of Little Rock, Arkansas; along with numerous nieces and nephews and relatives, as well as special friends, Barbara Carpenter and Katherine Phillips, both of Brazoria. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Katy Beck, his first wife, Jo Beck, and second wife, Mary Willson, sister Joan Sanders, father-in-law Oliver Moore, mother-in-law Arlene Moore, sister-in-laws, Mary Jane Behler and Joanna Willson, brother-in-laws George Sanders, Charles Howe, Jim and Bill Willson and nephew Floyd Howe. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brazoria and the Adult 6 Co-ed Sunday School class. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Chris Smith, Bill Hayes, Scott Swift, Ryan Eubanks, Colton Eubanks, David Tate, and nephews Chad Sanders and Chase Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Adult 6 Co-ed Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Brazoria. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home in Brazoria. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Brazoria with Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Brazoria cemetery.
