Walter Chancey

Walter Brady Chancey, 74 of Sweeny, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Cypress Woods Nursing Home in Angleton, Texas. He was born April 12, 1941 in Porter, Texas to Joseph Johnny Dale Chancey and Ruth Evelyn Cade Chancey. He was a loving husband and father, he always provided for his family and loved God with all his heart.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, October 23, 2015 at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with Rev. Roy Hunt officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Ray Chancey, Sr. and Rev. Gene Wilkerson. Burial will follow at Sweeny Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm also at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Chancey, Ray Chancey, Sr., Johnny Chancey, Martin Williams, Eddie Chancey and Pee Wee Chancey. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Chancey, Johnathan Chancey and Jimmy Chancey.

Walter is survived by his wife, Peggy Joyce Chancey of Sweeny; son, Roy Brady Chancey and wife, Evelyn of Oyster Creek; daughter, Cindy Gregory and husband, Paul of Brazoria; granddaughter, Samantha Gregory; brothers, Robert Chancey and wife, Annette, Jimmy Chancey and wife, Tonie; Ray Chancey and wife, Carolyn; Johnny Chancey and wife, Belinda; sisters, Ruby Hunt and husband, Roy along with Sue Williams and husband, Martin. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Chancey.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mike Chancey.
