Wesley Gordon

Wesley Ray Gordon, 75, of Guy, Texas, passed from this life on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He passed at his home in Guy, surrounded by family.

Wesley was born on November 8, 1944, in Lindale, Texas, to States Wesley and Carrie Bell Gordon. He is preceded in death by both his parents, States Wesley and Carrie Bell Gordon; his brother, Kenneth Gordon; Wanda Sue Caviness; and his son, Jonathan Gordon.

He is survived by his sister, Linda Gardner; his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Gordon; his daughters, Melinda Gordon and Tina Gordon and Kathryn Gordon; his sons James Gordon, David Allen Gordon, David Wesley Gordon and Robert Gordon; grandchildren Thomas Gordon, Christopher Meuse, Jeff Meuse, Kristina Chancer, Dalton Gordon, Cameron Gordon and Lauren Gordon. He has numerous great-grandchildren.

He had a very interesting life with many memories and stories to tell kids and grandkids.
He went to school in Irving, Texas. After school, he was drafted into the Army and fought in the Vietnam War. After the war, he came home and started working. He was a jack of all trades, but his profession was being a truck driver. He drove out of state with Ryder and then stayed in-state with VSA or Vistar. He enjoyed driving big trucks. He received many awards for being a safe driver.

He loved playing dominoes and cards with family and friends. He won a trophy for winning a dominoes tournament in Guy, Texas. Every chance he got, he would be hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes. He also loved spending time with family.

Wesley was a strong, caring and loving man. He enjoyed life and being around loved ones.

Services for Wesley Gordon will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 603 Parrot Ave. Damon, Texas. Family viewing is from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m., with funeral services to follow.

Pallbearers will be David Allen Gordon, James Wesley Gordon, Thomas Shane Gordon, Christopher Meuse, Jeff Meuse and Travis Caviness. Honorary pallbearers are David Wesley Gordon and Tyler Cogburn
