Wilson Earl Saville

September 19, 1945 — March 9, 2024

West Columbia, TX

Earl Saville, 78, of West Columbia went to be in the arms of the Lord on March 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on September 19, 1945, to Plen Brawner Saville and Mary Helen Carter Saville.

Following his studies in Engineering at Auburn University, Earl found his life’s work in construction. Starting from the ground up in roadwork, he progressed to concrete and blasting, built wastewater treatment facilities, and ultimately specialized as a professional in electric power generation equipment, traveling the world as a technical field advisor and site manager.

Throughout his life, Earl was known for his down-to-earth personality and his unwavering commitment to bringing joy to those around him. His outgoing nature, adventurous spirit, and love of life resonated with all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Earl could cut a rug on the dance floor like no other and was always the brightest light in every room. He found solace in watching sunsets from his deck in Sargent, his happy place. He enjoyed listening to great music, fishing, storytelling and being with his family whenever he could. Earl was a true southern gentleman and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife Cindy (Brandt) Saville; his children Zach Saville of Atlanta, GA., Amanda Jackson of Auburn, AL., Kayce McCormick and husband Joseph of Austin, Elizabeth Dodds and husband Bryan, Jake Toney, and Brittany Smith of West Columbia, and sister Joyce Kelley and husband Barry of Daphne, AL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler, Rhys, Griffin, Allie, Dillon, Bailey, Emma, and Riley. He will be greatly missed by his niece Jenny, nephew Jim and a host of cousins.

He is preceded in death by his brother Curtis Wayne Saville, and his parents Plen Brawner Saville and Mary Helen Carter Saville.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Earl’s Life being held on March 16, 2024, at Columbia Methodist Church in West Columbia. Viewing will begin at 2:30p followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00p. Gifts may be made in honor of Earl’s memory to Columbia Methodist Church.

Earl Saville will be deeply missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
