George Higdon, 87, of Brazoria, Texas passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Angleton Hospital.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas. Burial will be held the following day on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00pm at Pearsall Cemetery in Pearsall, Texas.
George Higdon was born on November 23, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas.
His careers were Ford Dealership Mechanic, State Highway Patrol Officer, retired from Dow as an I&E Technician, Hot Shot Driver and Texas Boll Weevil Field Technician. He had many hobbies / side jobs such as being the President of the Texas Emu Foundation, Owning a Ceramic Shop, Owning a Sno Cone Shop, Auctioneer, Fisherman along with being a Farmer whom had a garden and raised cows, horses, pigs, chickens, emus, quail and peacocks. He was a jack of all trades, this caused many to turn to him for advice on electrical, auto mechanics, plumbing, carpentry and tractors. George was a very strong, steady and solid man. He was incredibly patient, slow to anger and he forgave everyone.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lively Higdon; his son, Sam Higdon; his mother Ruth Arnold Higdon and his father, Grady Higdon.
George is survived by his Daughters: Holly (TJ) Carlson of Brazoria, Texas; Cindy (John) Hargett of Old Ocean, Texas and his Sons: Dan (Sherri) Higdon of Lake Jackson, Texas; Chris (Tina) Hinman of Bay City, Texas and Jim (Laura) Thompson of Conroe, Texas along with several Grandkids and Great Grandkids that called him “Grandaddy”.
