Sammie Lou Thompson, 79, of Angleton passed away on March 29, 2021. Born January 14, 1942 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Samuel and Lucille Thomas, She lived in Angleton for many years. Sammie worked for the Brazoria County Title & Land office, BP/Amoco for 26 years and retired from there. But she didn’t stop there she went on to work with Habitats for Humanity as a volunteer for 14 years, did the Methodist Church meals for the shut-in people of the church for 8 years, Bowling for many years, enjoyed going with her singles group to many places, going on trips with Kathy Bevell, and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lucille Thomas, Benny G. Thompson, Sr., children, Billy Wade Thompson, and Tommy Thompson.
Sammie is survived by her loving family, sister Sheila Thomas Cudd, children Benny Gale Thompson, Jr and wife Kathy, grandchildren, Richard Thompson and Wife Amber, Tonya Thompson Goodrum and husband Stephen, Christopher Thompson and wife Jeffrie, and Davin Bellar. Great grandchildren, Cory, Alexis, Nevaeh, Lukas, and Jude. One Nephew Don Cudd and wife Cheryl, and numerous family and friends.
A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5pm until 7pm at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 1:00pm. at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia, Texas.
Interment will follow in Sweeny Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Cory Goodrum, Stephen Goodrum, Christopher Thompson, Davin Bellar, Tracy Brewer, and Don Cudd.
